To keep fans anticipating the return of "Empire", the show has debuted two new songs from its upcoming second season's soundtrack. The first track is "No Doubt About It" which features cast member Jussie Smollett (Jamal Lyon) and Pitbull. The upbeat and catchy feel-good tune was co-written by Ne-Yo.
The second just-released song is titled "Ain't About the Money", which is a collaboration between Smollett and his on-screen brother Yazz a.k.a. Bryshere Y. Gray (Hakeem Lyon). The track may sound familiar for fans of the FOX hit show, because it has previously been previewed in some promos for season 2.
Both songs will appear on "Empire: Original Soundtrack from Season 2 Volume 1", which is scheduled to arrive later this year. The soundtrack for the series' first installment was a critical and commercial success. It reached No. 1 on Billboard 200 following its release earlier this year.
The second season of "Empire", meanwhile, is set to premiere on September 23 at 9 P.M. ET/PT on FOX. Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson who reprise their respective role as Lucious and Cookie Lyon will be joined by guest stars like Kelly Rowland, Marisa Tomei, Alicia Keys, Chris Rock and Ludacris among others.
