Tom Holland Signs Up for 'The Lost City of Z'

The actor who portrays the new version of Spider-Man is tapped to star in the adventure movie, joining the likes of Charlie Hunnam, Sienna Miller and Robert Pattinson.

AceShowbiz - Tom Holland is ready for another adventure movie as he has signed on for "The Lost City of Z". Holland will join the likes of Charlie Hunnam, Sienna Miller and Robert Pattinson in the movie which already started filming in Belfast.

Based on David Grann's New York Times best-selling book of the same name, the movie follows Percy Fawcett, a conscripted soldier and born explorer who disappeared in the 1920s while searching for a mythical city in the Amazon jungles of Brazil that he believed he discovered on a prior expedition.

Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner are producing for Plan B Entertainment along with Anthony Katagas and Dale Johnson. Marc Butan from MadRiver Pictures is executive producing as well as Julie B. May and Glenn Murray (MICA Entertainment). Sierra/Affinity is representing international sales with CAA holding domestic rights to the film.

The movie will be filmed in Belfast for five weeks and will continue shooting in Colombia throughout September and October. "The Lost City of Z" is expected to arrive in U.S. theaters in 2016.

Holland will appear as Spider-Man in "Captain America: Civil War" which will debut the new version of the webslinger. He will also star in an untitled new Spider-Man movie for summer 2017 release and will next be seen alongside Chris Hemsworth in Ron Howard's "In the Heart of the Sea".
