The 'Paradise' helmer will stick to screenwriting after realizing that she possesses no leadership qualities.

AceShowbiz - Diablo Cody realizes that her place is not behind the lens. She might have gained success on writing the script to "Juno" and "United States of Tara" but she struggled as a director of "Paradise".

"Paradise" was Cody's directorial debut which was critically panned despite having strong cast such as Russell Brand and Octavia Spencer. It was released on VOD in 2013, having scored 22 percent based on 37 reviews on Rotten Tomatoes.

"I am retired from directing," Cody told THR, adding, "I don't think I possess the leadership qualities required to be a director." Continuing to do what she's best at, Cody is writing the script to Sony's live-action comedy "Barbie". She said, "I'm just going to stay home in my sweatpants from now on."

Cody is also working on a single-camera TV series with Louis C.K. and Tig Notaro. The pilot, which will air on Amazon, starts shooting in a few weeks.
