Robin Thicke visited "Good Morning America" on Wednesday morning, August 12 to promote his new single "Back Together". The R&B superstar delivered the first live TV performance of the track, unfortunately sans collaborator Nicki Minaj.

Donning a dapper three-piece suit, Thicke was joined on the stage by a full band. During his appearance on the show, he also sat down for an interview, and talked about his new single and how he dealt with divorce from Paula Patton.

Thicke admitted that he didn't write "Back Together", which was co-produced by hitmakers Max Martin and Savan Kotecha, but he's sure it's not about his ex-wife. "I didn't write this song, so I can't take credit for the meaning," he said.

"I just heard this idea of getting back together and getting yourself back together, and what I was going through at the time I really really related to that and connected to it," he continued. "It's more about the theme of getting yourself back together with love and partnership."

Of his life following split from Patton, he revealed he spent a lot of time with his parents and even sought advice from them as he took a break from music. He also "spent so much time with my son and that made me realize what's most important."
