Johnny Depp and Alice Cooper Supergroup Announces Rare U.S. Live Shows

The Hollywood Vampires is set to perform at the iconic club in West Hollywood before they are jetting off to Brazil for Rock in Rio.

AceShowbiz - The Hollywood Vampires, the supergroup consisting of Johnny Depp, Alice Cooper, and Joe Perry, announces a two-night performance at the Roxy in West Hollywood. They are scheduled to take the stage on September 16 and 17 with tickets to go on sale Friday.

The band is also supported by former Guns N' Roses bassist Duff McKagan and drummer Matt Sorum. Rounding up the pack is Tommy Henriksen, who is a member of Cooper's band, and Bruce Witkin, who played with Depp in a band called the Kids.

After the rare U.S. shows, the group will perform at Rock in Rio in Brazil on September 24. Before the gig, they will team up with the Starkey Hearing Foundation to distribute hearing aids to 150 people in need.

The Hollywood Vampires was born in 1972 at a club called the Rainbow Bar & Grill where rock stars like John Lennon, Ringo Starr, Harry Nilsson, Keith Moon, Bernie Taupin, Jim Morrison, and Mickey Dolenz used to hang out. "To join the club, one simply had to out drink all of the members," Cooper said.

The group's setlist is expected to be a mix of original tracks and some cover songs by members of the original Hollywood Vampires like The Who's "My Generation," The Doors' "Five to One" and "Break on Through," Nilsson's "Jump Into the Fire," Lennon's "Cold Turkey", and Jimi Hendrix's "Manic Depression".

Their debut album, meannwhile, will feature A-list guest stars including Paul McCartney, Dave Grohl, Slash, Joe Walsh, and AC/DC's Brian Johnson. The proceeds will be donated to MusiCares.
