Jennifer Garner reportedly has told her kids about her split from their dad Ben Affleck. The "Dallas Buyers Club" actress apparently doesn't want to "sugarcoat" the truth that she is going to split from her estranged husband.
"She's such a good mom and she's honest with them - she's not sugarcoating this," a source close to Jennifer told PEOPLE. However, the 43-year-old actress is trying her best to make her children feel secure despite the difficult situation. "Her strength is what made her who she is," the source added. "She has risen up in this situation. It's unbelievable."
Jennifer and Ben have committed to co-parenting their children following their divorce, and the "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" actor has shown that in the recent days. On Tuesday, July 7, Ben arrived in Atlanta to be with his kids after a short stay in L.A. from their Bahamas trip. The 42-year-old actor reportedly stayed in Jennifer's guest house while she was filming "Miracles from Heaven". On Wednesday morning, Ben took the kids to the Lovett School, where they are participating in a summer program.
Following their divorce announcement, the two were said to continue on living in the same property in L.A., though in separate houses, to co-parent their children. "They feel like they have to be mature adults for their children's sake and that they will figure out the healthiest way to co-parent," said an insider. "They want the kids' lives to stay the same and to not have to change just because they aren't going to be married anymore."
