In honor of the Pride Month, the 'Wrecking Ball' hitmaker launches a campaign in partnership with Instagram to raise awareness about 'transgender and gender expansive people.'

AceShowbiz - Miley Cyrus launched InstaPride campaign in collaboration with Instagram on Monday, June 15. The campaign which is intended to raise awareness about "transgender and gender expansive people" and promote her Happy Hippie Foundation will last for more than two weeks since the launching.

"I'm launching #InstaPride today, in partnership with @Instagram, to share stories of transgender and gender expansive people from around the country," Miley wrote a note on her Instagram account. "Over the next 2 weeks, you'll meet them and the people in their lives who support them, as we highlight their stories of resilience #happyhippiepresents @happyhippiefdn." The note served as a caption for a picture of a person wearing yellow T-shirt holding yellow smiley balloons to cover his face.

The "Wrecking Ball" hitmaker started her campaign by posting a picture featuring a trans man, namely Leo. The picture showed Leo looking up at yellow balloons he was holding. A lengthy note for the caption gave fans brief information about Leo. It read, "This is Leo (@isupersheng), a 19-year-old college student from Michigan. He shares about his own identity, experiences and hopes saying: 'I have a lot of different identities. I'm a writer, a filmmaker in the works, a sometimes photographer, a good public-speaker, a social media junkie, a Gleek, a feminist, an activist a movie buff, a dutiful Netflix fan. The list goes on and on. As for my gender, I identify as a trans man.' " Miley and Leo also appeared together in another photo, showing their similar tattoos.

Miley also posted a number of pictures showing behind the scenes of the InstaPride photo shoot which took place in a studio in Hollywood, California. In one picture, the 22-year-old singer appeared with the crew in the studio. Another picture showed her taking a snap of Leo.

The pictures of this campaign will stay on Instagram with the #InstaPride hashtag. The campaign also encourages Instagram users to post their own proud pictures of being whoever they please. The "Hannah Montana" alum told Time about the campaign, "Anyone should be able to express how they feel, without question, and be able to live."

Last month, Miley was in partnership with Facebook for her Backyard Sessions. The event featured her and some friends, including Joan Jett, Ariana Grande and Laura Jane Grace, performing covers of classic songs. The goal was to promote her newborn Happy Hippie Foundation.
