'Kung Fu Panda 3' First Teaser Trailer Reveals Villain Kai

The nearly one-minute international trailer gives the first look at the villain named Kai who has a superpower to defeat kung fu masters.

AceShowbiz - The first teaser trailer for the highly-anticipated animation "Kung Fu Panda 3" has arrived. Although the trailer is in Chinese, fans still can enjoy several scenes of the movie which reveal some new characters and give a look at the Furious Five.

The trailer opens with Master Shifu seemingly warning the Furious Five that there will be a war. It continues with scene where the main villain, Kai a.k.a. The Collector, smirks. Kai has an enormous body with evil spirit that goes around stealing the powers of other kung fu masters.

It also shows the Furious Five fighting with other enemies on the roof of a building as well as features Mei Mei, the female panda who is rumored to be Po's love interest. At the end of the trailer, Kai is seen destroying a Chinese building with a huge statue.

According to the official synopsis, "when Po's long-lost panda father suddenly reappears, the reunited duo travels to a secret panda paradise to meet scores of hilarious new panda characters. But when the supernatural villain Kai begins to sweep across China defeating all the kung fu masters, Po must do the impossible-learn to train a village full of his fun-loving, clumsy brethren to become the ultimate band of Kung Fu Pandas!"

Jennifer Yuh Nelson, who directed "Kung Fu Panda 2", returns as director while Melissa Cobb is tapped as producer. The voice cast includes Jack Black, Gary Oldman, Dustin Hoffman, David Cross, Angelina Jolie, Michelle Yeoh, Danny McBride, Lucy Liu, Seth Rogen, Jackie Chan, James Hong and the newly-added voice cast members Bryan Cranston, Rebel Wilson and Mads Mikkelsen. The movie is slated for a U.S. release on January 29, 2016.
