The 'Sherlock' actor and his wife Sophie Hunter announce that they are proud parents to a healthy baby boy.

AceShowbiz - It's a boy for Benedict Cumberbatch and his wife, theater director/playwright/actress Sophie Hunter. It's the first child together for the couple who got married in a private ceremony on Valentine's Day this year on the Isle of Wright.
"Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter are delighted to announce the arrival of their beautiful son," a representative for the actor says in a statement. "We would kindly ask everyone to respect the family's privacy during these next few precious weeks."
"I was happy as an only child, but I've always wanted to be part of a bigger family," the "Sherlock" star told Event magazine back in 2013. "I would love to have children. I can't wait to do an interview like this and just talk about my child."
Benedict Cumberbatch, 38, was recently named Commander of the Order of the British Empire or CBE along with "12 Years a Slave" actor Chiwetel Ejiofor in Queen's Birthday Honours. Fellow actor Eddie Redmayne was named an Officer of the Order of the British Empire or OBE and Kevin Spacey was awarded an honorary knighthood for his services to culture and British theater.
