AceShowbiz - "Empire" has revealed return date for the upcoming sophomore season. Taraji P. Henson who plays the fierce Cookie Lyon on the popular hip-hop drama series confirms the show will kick off the new second season on September 23 on FOX.
The actress tweeted, "Hello! September 23 #Empire season." It was quickly confirmed by the writing staff on the show, "#Empire fans! @EmpireFOX Season 2 returns Wednesday, September 23, 2015! #MarkYourCalendars #GameTimeB*tches."
Terrence Howard is set to return as the rap mogul, Lucious Lyon, for the new season of the Lee Daniels-created show. Chris Rock, Lenny Kravitz, and Alicia Keys have landed guest roles. Oprah Winfrey and Common are rumored to pop up as well while Ne-Yo is expected to write original music along with Timbaland.
