Manganiello said that he didn't mind being treated as an eye candy, claiming, 'I don't think men care why women like them, as long as they do.'

AceShowbiz - Joe Manganiello said that he didn't mind being objectified for his good look in a recent interview with Details magazine. Covering the magazine's Special Summer Style Issue, the "Magic Mike XXL" star revealed that he didn't object to being treated as eye candy.

"Why would I?" Manganiello told the publication. "I don't think men care why women like them, as long as they do. That's the point of the nerd in high school who makes it big. You work that hard for a reason. You want to have access to the dating pool."

"No one pointed a gun at my head and said I had to look a certain way," added the "True Blood" star who bulked up for his role on the TV series. "I was hired for how I looked then, and I could have stayed that way, but why wouldn't I want to come in the best shape of my life?"

People may think playing a male stripper is easy, but Manganiello proves them wrong as he revealed that he injured his biceps while shooting a scene involving a sex swing. "I had to power through four and a half weeks of shooting, just dealing with the pain and praying that the biceps didn't detach completely," the actor said. "I had surgery the second I got back [to L.A.]."

Sofia Vergara's fiance may be famous for his well-built body, but according to his upcoming movie's producer and co-star Channing Tatum, there is more to Manganiello than just big muscles. "Everybody sees Joe as the physical specimen he is - you can't miss that," Tatum said of Manganiello.

"Unfortunately, that means people assume that he has no other attributes or skills until he proves it to them," he added. "But one of my favorite things about Joe is that he doesn't feel the need to prove himself to anyone."
