The first stills from "The Martian" have arrived, giving some sneak peeks at Matt Damon donning a spacesuit for his role. Courtesy of PEOPLE, there is also a first look at Sebastian Stan, Jessica Chastain, Kate Mara, and Kristen Wiig.
Adapted from Andy Weir's novel, the film follows a lone man who must figure out how to survive long enough to return to Earth. "Any survival story is fascinating," director Ridley Scott explains to Empire which publishes more photos from the movie. "I think of it as a 21st century Robinson Crusoe."

During a manned mission to Mars, Astronaut Mark Watney is presumed dead after a fierce storm and left behind by his crew. With only meager supplies, he must draw upon his ingenuity, wit, and spirit to subsist and find a way to signal to Earth that he is alive.
The sci-fi movie is due November 25 Stateside.
