Birthday lady Nikki Reed went wild on her 27th birthday over the weekend by doing "dirty dancing pool lifts." Now that the big day has passed she has nothing but gratitude for family and friends for helping her celebrate the milestone.

"I feel so full, so complete surrounded by such an amazing group of friends and family," she wrote on her Instagram in companion to a series of photos she shared from the bash. "It was the most beautiful day filled with love, laughter (a little too much- my stomach still hurts) and a few dirty dancing pool lifts (don't worry boys I won't embarrass you)."

"As I get older I am finding myself more in tune with what the passing of time means and the value of staying in the moment," she continued writing. "I'm more aware of the eagerness one feels at the thought of acquiring knowledge and the excitement of growth. I am learning to trust myself more, and I am learning to love even more than I ever thought possible. So much of my inspiration comes from the vibrations that live inside me, but also in what you guys project. Thank you for your amazing energy. Thank you for your pictures, for your songs, for your love. I can't wait for 27 to reveal itself. I'm ready:)"

Reed sure had a blast on her 27th birthday on Sunday, May 17. The "Twilight" star was showered with sweet and lovely birthday messages from actor husband Ian Somerhalder. "I love you world... You are simply incredible," the star of "The Vampire Diaries" expressed his love for her in a series of tweets. "Happy birthday to the most incredible woman I've ever known... HAPPY BIRTHDAY @NikkiReed_I_Am The world is better because you are in it!!!!!" He added, "I meant the most incredible human I've ever known...;)"
