Lots have happened to Mariah Carey in the past year. After releasing her oft-delayed album "Me. I Am Mariah... The Elusive Chanteuse", which logged her lowest first week sales ever, the singer made numerous headlines last year for everything from her split from Nick Cannon to her rumored Las Vegas residency.

Carey then visited "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" back in January to confirm her residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. She kept getting fans excited when a few weeks later, she officially left Def Jam to reunite with longtime collaborator L. A. Reid at Epic Records.

Her first project to arrive under the label is a greatest hits album to coincide with her shows. Called "#1 to Infinity", it will include her 18 singles that have all reached No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100 like "Vision of Love", "Hero" and "We Belong Together" plus a brand new song "Infinity" that's widely believed to be a diss aimed at her soon-to-be-ex-husband Cannon.

Carey, however, has denied the speculations. She explained in an interview last month that the track was about loving oneself. "I don't feel like it's my personal life. It's written for all the women, or men, or whoever's gone through any type of relationship," she said. "I'm looking at it as the mantra of 'Infinity' is love yourself... loving yourself first to infinity. Then you can love anybody or anything else - your career, your kids, your life."

On May 6, the 44-year-old superstar finally kicked off her residency to positive reviews. She performed her 18 No. 1 songs in order of their release with Ken Ehrlich directing.

Now, she's gearing up to release "#1 to Infinity", which is officially coming out on May 18, while also continuing working on her next album. "[L.A. Reid and I] we're going to go in and go hard and think about the best move for the next record. And we'll see," she told L.A. Times.

Carey also revealed to the publication she had lots of other things besides music that she'd do in the future. "This is just the beginning," she continued. "Movies. Projects that I'm developing, there's some TV projects and different concepts. Christmas is always the most fun. I start looking forward to Christmas before it's even summertime. I did those shows at the Beacon Theater. I'll be doing that again this year. And I'm going to have some other surprises that I will announce later."
