Katie Couric Drives an Uber in Parody Video

Two female passengers were surprised after learning that their Uber driver was the former 'CBS Evening News' anchor, asking her, 'Why are you driving an Uber?'

Katie Couric seemingly has a new job. The former "CBS Evening News" and "Today" anchor drove an Uber taxi in new parody video titled "How Uber Ratings Really Works" by Danielle and Laura Kosann of The New Potato website.

After noticing that it was Couric who drove the Uber taxi, one of the two female passengers asked, "Why are you driving an Uber?" The 58-year-old journalist replied with a joke, "You know, to earn a little pocket change."

The passenger asked her back, "But you don't need to be doing this, do you?" Couric answered the question hilariously, asking them whether they noticed the complimentary water bottles in the backseat or not.

The spoof video was meant to explain the rating system used by Uber drivers for their passengers. By having a high passenger score, the drivers expect they can have faster arrival times and refreshments. Couric got a 6.4 rating in the video.

Couric joined previous Uber drivers like Matthew McConaughey from last year's Uber commercial.
