AceShowbiz - Katie Couric recalled her bad experience while working with Bryant Gumbel. The TV personality revealed that her former "Today" co-anchor showed an "incredibly sexist attitude" when it came to her maternity leave.

Katie recalled in the Sunday, April 14 episode of Bill Maher's "Club Random", "He got mad at me because I was doing something on maternity leave." She continued, "And he was giving me endless s**t for taking like a month or two off. I was having my first baby."

According to Katie, Bryant asked her why she couldn't "just drop it in the field and come back to work right away." When Bill said that Bryant might be joking, Katie insisted, "No, he was kidding. He was goofing on me but giving me a lot of s**t but it was emblematic of an incredibly sexist attitude."

Of the 75-year-old, the veteran journalist said, "He is a guy's guy. He is a guy's guy, you got that right. He is. He was prickly but I mean, what a talent. He's such a seamless broadcaster, eloquent. When that countdown would happen, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, he would just hit it perfect."

Katie shares daughters Ellie, 32, and Carrie, 28, with late husband Jay Monahan. Recently, she became a grandma after Ellie welcomed her first baby, son John Albert Dobrosky.

Celebrating the birth of her first grandson, Katie wrote on Instagram, "John Albert Dobrosky was born on his due date, Saturday, March 23rd at 8:23 am, just shy of seven pounds." She added, "He will be called Jay in honor of his maternal grandfather. Albert is after Mark's paternal grandfather."

"Mom and Dad (Ellie and Mark) are over the moon (it was a full moon) I am thrilled to have my first grandchild, Carrie can't wait to be a cool Aunt and Molner is enjoying handing out cigars.
