'Fifty Shades Darker' and 'Fifty Shades Freed' are scheduled to hit theaters around Valentine's Days just like the first film this year.

Universal Pictures has booked release dates for two "Fifty Shades of Grey" sequels. Both the second film "Fifty Shades Darker" and the third one "Fifty Shades Freed" target Valentine's Day releases, just like the first installment which came out Stateside on February 13 this year.

The studio head Donna Langley announces at CinemaCon that the sequel is set for February 10, 2017 and the threequel will make its way out on February 9, 2018. Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan are in negotiations to return as Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey respectively.

However, director Sam Taylor-Wood and screenwriter Kelly Marcel won't return for the upcoming sequels after they famously clashed with E.L. James on the first film. The author reportedly demanded more control over the next installments and wanted to write the second movie herself.

In a move believed to be a compromise, Universal hires James' husband Niall Leonard who is an author himself and also a screenwriter to provide script for the second chapter.
