'Lip Sync Battle' Renewed for Second Season by Spike TV

The cable channel has ordered 20 new episodes of the hit musical comedy series to air in 2016.

AceShowbiz - For being a new hit series, "Lip Sync Battle" has got a second season order from Spike TV. The network has announced it picked up another 20 episodes of the musical comedy series, slated to debut in 2016.

" 'Lip Sync Battle' is a television and viral rock star for Spike," said Kevin Kay, president of Spike. "We are thrilled to be renewing 'Lip Sync Battle', whose success is a direct result of the brilliance and creativity of our producers, the brave performers and, of course, the coolest new duo on television, LL Cool J and Chrissy Teigen."

"Lip Sync Battle", which is based on one of the favorite segments on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon", is the most-watched show in the history of the cable channel. Jimmy Fallon, John Krasinski and Stephen Merchant executive produce the show.

The show has so far featured Fallon, Krasinski, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Justin Bieber, Common, John Legend, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt and Anna Kendrick, with LL Cool J as the host.

"Lip Sync Battle" airs Thursdays at 10/9c on Spike TV. Mike Tyson and Terry Crews will appear in the upcoming episode set to air on April 23.
