A new trailer for N.W.A biopic "Straight Outta Compton" has arrived, giving more sneak peek to the group's humble beginning in a rough neighborhood at their California hometown. "If you had the chance to change the situation," Jason Mitchell's Eazy-A asks, "would you take it?"

As they rise to stardom, they get a lot of criticisms for glamorizing violence and drugs. But they don't shy away from controversies. "Our art is a reflection of our reality," O'Shea Jackson Jr.'s Ice Cube says to one of their critics at one point in the trailer.

In a radio interview, Dr. Dre who is played by Corey Hawkins said of the challenge to bring the story to the big screen. "I was just nervous about putting a blemish on our legacy," he explained. "The story had to be told right. And it's incredible, man. I'm really excited about it."

His excitement was echoed by his former bandmate Cube. "It feels great," he told XXL. "To me, it's a story that should be told. It's an American story of not only rags to riches, but David vs. Goliath. To me, when you talk about N.W.A, you talk about non-violent protests against things that we were trying to comprehend, so we ended up putting it in song. There should be a movie about us."

Directed by F. Gary Gray, the biopic is set to arrive in the U.S. on August 14.
