Paquin will star on the period miniseries and executive produce it with Jack Black as well as her husband and 'True Blood' co-star Stephen Moyer.

AceShowbiz - Anna Paquin can't be away from HBO for too long. Less than a year after her show "True Blood" ended its run, the actress is plotting her return to the small screen with miniseries "Madame X" which is being developed at the premium cable channel.

Paquin will star on the period drama based on Kate Manning's novel "My Notorious Life", which is inspired by a real midwife who became one of the most controversial figures in Victorian New York City. It's described as "a love story, a family saga, and the confessions of a charismatic and passionate woman who changed the lives of countless others" on Amazon.com.

Paquin will play Axie Muldoon, an impoverished child of Irish immigrants who grows up to become one of the wealthiest and most controversial women of her day. She flouts convention and defies the law in the name of women's reproductive rights.

The Rogue of "X-Men" movie series is also set to executive produce the miniseries along with actor Jack Black and her husband/"True Blood" co-star Stephen Moyer. Lynn Shelton is attached as director, with Julia Hart penning the script.

In other casting news, FOX's "Gotham" has found its Lucius Fox. Former "Homeland" star Chris Chalk, who is also known for his role as Clemens in 2013's "12 Years a Slave", is cast in the role that was played by Morgan Freeman in Christopher Nolan's "Batman" trilogy.

He will appear in the penultimate episode (episode 21) of the Batman prequel series' first season with an option to return in season 2. On the comic books, Lucius Fox is a long-running CEO of Wayne Enterprises.
