AceShowbiz - Harrison Ford was rushed to hospital after his vintage World War II training plane crash landed on a golf course in Los Angeles, California on Thursday, March 5. His son, Ben Ford, has been updating fans on Twitter about his father's condition.

While reports said Harrison was seriously injured, Ben wrote, "At the hospital. Dad is ok. Battered, but ok! He is every bit the man you would think he is. He is an incredibly strong man. Thank you all for your thoughts and good vibes for my dad."

An eyewitness at the golf course told TMZ that she heard the engine sputter and watched Harrison's plane do a "nose dive straight on the 8th hole tee box." The witness added, "I was one of the first people to run from the hole toward the plane. 4 to 5 men pulled the pilot out of the plane. They got him away from the plane. They were concerned it would catch on fire."

The witness went on, "Two doctors were there - and they had a 1st aid box with them. He was conscious, talking a little -- a HUGE cut on his head. A swath of his skin was missing. There was blood dripping down his face."

A video obtained by the site showed Harrison lying on the grass while being treated by paramedics after the crash.

The site also obtained an audio of the "Star Wars" actor talking to the Santa Monica Airport control tower just moments before he had taken off. At that time, he reported engine failure and requested an emergency return to the airport.
