"The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" is losing another of its longtime cast members. Following the footsteps of her husband Jason Jones, Samantha Bee who has been a correspondent on the show since 2003 is also leaving the Comedy Central series for TBS.

Bee will produce and host her own comedy show on TBS. The new show, which is in the early stages of development, is described as "a platform for Bee to apply her smart and satirical point of view to current and relevant issues."

Bee, however, will remain on "The Daily Show" while her TBS program is being developed. She will be executive producing the show along with her husband Jones. No premiere date is announced just yet for the new show.

Sharing her excitement, Bee tweeted on Thursday, March 5, "Lord thundering Jesus this day is about to get exciting."

Brett Weitz, executive vice president of original programming for TBS, said in a statement, "We're thrilled to have Sam join Jason at TBS and really make this a family affair. We actually have their kids coming in next week to pitch us animation."

"Like her fans around the country, we absolutely adore everything about Sam, from her straight-faced sarcasm and ruthless wit to her uncanny ability to mine comedy gold from just about any awkward situation. After watching Sam's work for years, we knew that her distinctive humor and talent belong at the front of her own show."

Her husband Jones, who is also a longtime correspondent on "The Daily Show", announced his departure from the show in early February, writing on his Twitter, "For 9 & 1/2 years, I have worked at one of the greatest TV shows of all time. But... It is time for me to go. That said, I am ecstatic to announce that I'm about to make another great show over @tbsveryfunny." At that time, Comedy Central stated that Bee's staying on "The Daily Show".
