Lupita's $150K Calvin Klein gown, which was previously stolen from her hotel room, has allegedly been returned to the crime scene after the thief discovered that the pearls were fake.

AceShowbiz - A $150,000 Calvin Klein gown worn by Lupita Nyong'o to the 2015 Academy Awards which was stolen from her room at London West Hollywood hotel on Wednesday, February 25 has reportedly been returned to the crime scene. The thief called TMZ on Friday afternoon to tell the site about the location of the dress and added that the pearls were fake.

The thief said he stole Lupita's dress, which is reportedly adorned with 6,000 Akoya pearls, after he noticed that the door of her room was slightly open. The thief then took two pearls off the dress and brought them to the garment district in downtown Los Angeles. However, he was told that the pearls weren't real.

The thief told the site that he decided to return the dress to the hotel in a garment bag. The garment bag was put inside a trash bag that he then stored in a second floor bathroom next to a gym. The site then called the police and they retrieved the bag.

The thief said he called TMZ and returned the dress because he wanted the world to know "Hollywood's fake bulls**t."

Lupita hasn't commented on the report yet, but she posted a photo of her and the dress' designer Francisco Costa taken at the Vanity Fair's Oscars after-party.
