U2 has dropped the proper music video for their "Every Breaking Wave". The clip, hitting Vevo on Monday, February 23, is a condensed version of a short film the group created with Irish director Aoife McArdle. The 13-minute film was released earlier this month featuring "Every Breaking Wave" and another "Songs of Innocence" cut called "The Troubles".

Set against the social and political turmoil of early 1980s Northern Ireland, the new music video opens with a Protestant girl and a Catholic boy meeting at a punk show. The pair are later seen making out, running through the woods, jumping into the pool and hanging out with their friends. Things start to change after the boy's dad gets arrested.

"Songs of Innocence", U2's 13th studio effort, was released last September. It was made available digitally for millions of iTunes users around the world at no cost. The album was then physically released in October via Island and Interscope Records.
