The British rock band's frontman Tom Meighan also disses Spice Girls, likening the girlband and 1D to 'shampoo' that's put in people's hair only to get washed out.

AceShowbiz - Kasabian isn't a fan of fellow British group One Direction. The rock band's frontman Tom Meighan had some pretty harsh words to say about the five-piece when he spoke to The Sun at the recent 2015 NME Awards in London.

"They're f**king millionaires but they're five no-ones who won the lottery," Meighan said on the red carpet outside London's Brixton Academy. He went on calling the super-popular group formed during U.K.'s "The X Factor" a "product" before throwing shade at Spice Girls too.

"They're massive, but they're a product, we're not. They're like shampoo. You buy it to put in your hair and wash it out, like the Spice Girls," he continued.

Meighan also offered his thought on the future of the boyband made up of Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson. "Thing is, they'll all get angry with each other, fall out and do too many drugs," he added. "They'll wanna be f**king arty and do something clever and they'll break up."

While One Direction, who's currently touring in Australia, hasn't responded to Meighan's comment, their hairstylist has. Lou Teasdale took to Twitter on Thursday, February 19 to defend the boys, writing, "Lol at Kasabian slagging off one direction again.. I personally have never witnessed a more embarrassing band than... Kasabian. #shade."
