In a post on her blog called ChemoCouture, the actress recalls how she was first diagnosed with the disease and that she had to undergo chemotherapy.

AceShowbiz - Actress-singer Krysta Rodriguez has a new blog called ChemoCouture, on which she reveals her battle with breast cancer and tells all about the diagnosis and treatment she has undergone. On Thursday, February 19, she wrote a post titled "It's a whole long boob story..."
"In addition to performing, I've always had a passion for art, fashion, decoration and overall beautification. I try to have fun with fashion and design and make it my goal to enjoy it and share it with others. Since being diagnosed with breast cancer in the fall of 2014 on the heels of my 30th birthday, I'm taking this passion of beautification to my treatment," so she revealed. "I've always believed you feel better when you look better. And what better time to test that out than when I'm going to be feeling pretty terrible for while! ChemoCouture will be dedicated to all things fun and fashion, while being focused on the specific needs of those women going through chemo. My goal is to have us all feeling beautiful together, wherever you are in your life," she continued.
Rodriguez went on revealing, "Now as far as cancer goes I have the Cadillac of tumors. It's slow growing, highly treatable and not really interested in spreading. My doctor calls it an 'old lady cancer.' I always knew I was ahead of my time!" Feeling hesitant at first to undergo chemotherapy, she recalled, "Chemo is basically an indiscriminate A-bomb that gets dropped in your body, nuking everything in its path, but I've got some eggs in there that I wasn't quite ready to cook."
At the end of her post, Rodriguez stated, "Which leads me to the blog! I desire to feel as great as I can during this time. I still want to be sexy, to take risks, to challenge what even I view as beautiful. So I'm pulling out all the stops. This is not time to bust out a beanie and hide. I'm going to try to live as loudly as I can." She went on concluding, "On this blog, I'm going to share my beauty tips, fashion ideas and diet changes that have altered my life drastically. And I want your help. If you have ever been affected by cancer, tell me your tips! If you're just interested in my journey, send a hello or a word of encouragement! But most of all, enjoy! 2015 is my year with cancer. Might as well make it a beautiful one!"
Krysta Rodriguez is well recognized for her starring role as Ana Vargas in the second and final season of NBC's musical drama series "Smash". She was previously known for starring as Wednesday Addams in the 2009 Broadway musical "The Addams Family".
