Neil Patrick Harris is ready to host the 2015 Oscars. In a video shared by The Academy on Monday, February 16, the "Gone Girl" star is seen sharing what he has been doing as he prepares for the big show and describes his job as the event's host. "You want them to be comfortable [after] the red carpet, so you have to make them feel like it's all gonna be good," he says of the event's guests.

Harris additionally talks about preparing jokes for the ceremony and teases what audience and viewers at home could expect from the show. "There will be a musical number at some point in the show. I'm a magician so I wouldn't be surprised if there's a hint of magic," he teases. "I fear I've said too much."

The event's producers Neil Meron and Craig Zadan also promise to deliver an entertaining night with music. Several famous names such as Common and John Legend, Adam Levine, Rita Ora, Tim McGraw and more are confirmed to take the stage, while Harris is set to perform a piece called "Moving Pictures" from the writers of "Frozen (2013)" soundtrack "Let It Go".

"It really is celebratory about movies and yet it's kind of cheeky in a way, but yet it has a beautiful musical motif which... we integrate throughout the show as kind of a call-back theme," Meron said, as reported by The Associated Press. Zaddan added, "It's a multimedia musical number, something that we've not done before."

The 87th Annual Academy Awards is set to take place on February 22 at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles. It will be broadcast live on ABC.
