Snoop Dogg Blasts Grammys for Lack of Support for Hip-Hop
Music

The rapper notes that Macklemore has more Grammys than big rappers like Tupac, Notorious B.I.G., Busta Rhymes and himself.

AceShowbiz - Snoop Dogg is one of those people who are not satisfied with this year's Grammy Awards, which was held on Sunday night, February 8. He's particularly not happy with the Recording Academy for not giving "real MCs" the awards they deserved.

The rapper then took to Instagram on Tuesday, February 10 to blast the Grammys while throwing shade at Macklemore. "F**k the Grammys we need a hip hop show for real n***az. n real mcs," he wrote, captioning a picture of the "Thrift Shop" hitmaker with photos of a number of rappers behind him.

Fuck the Grammys we need a hip hop show for real niggaz. ¯¿½¯¿½¯¿½°¯¿½¯¯¿½¿¯¿½½¯¿½¯¯¿½¿¯¿½½¯¿½¯¯¿½¿¯¿½½¯¿½¯¿½¯¿½¢¯¿½¯¯¿½¿¯¿½½¯¿½¯¿½¯¿½¨¯¿½¯¿½¯¿½°¯¿½¯¯¿½¿¯¿½½¯¿½¯¯¿½¿¯¿½½¯¿½¯¿½¯¿½µ n real mcs.

Snoop noted that Macklemore, who last year won four Grammys, has more golden gramophone trophies than big names in rap like Tupac Shakur, Notorious B.I.G., DMX, Busta Rhymes, Rick Ross, Run DMC, Kendrick Lamar, Public Enemy and Snoop himself combined. Snoop has never won a Grammy although he's been nominated 16 times.

The "Gin & Juice" hitmaker isn't the only rapper who has expressed disappointment over the Grammys in the past few days. Following the Sunday ceremony, Trey Songz tweeted, "The Grammys shortchange culture for popularity every year." The R&B star also had some words for them after his "Trigga" and the hit singles off the album didn't get nominated in any category.

"I don't rant, this isn't that. TRIGGA #1 album 'NaNa' 'Touchin Lovin' and 'What's Best For You' all #1 on one chart or another. #Grammys ijs," he added. "My fans give me the real reward no trophy ever could, LOVE. So everytime they give me nothing, I think of you. Thank you, I love you."
