Esposito is set to star as Calista Raines, the creative director of a luxury fashion brand, and will start appearing in the series' upcoming third episode of season 3.

AceShowbiz - ABC has found its new mistress in Jennifer Esposito and thus cast the actress as new series regular on its drama show "Mistresses". Booked to fill the spot left by its original actress Alyssa Milano, the 41-year-old actress will be appearing in the series' upcoming third episode of season 3.

Regarding the character she will portray, Esposito is said to star as Calista Raines, the creative director of a luxury fashion brand. Her part has been described by ABC as "uber-fabulous and larger-than-life, with a wicked sense of humor and style." She, moreover, "has the high-class socialite lifestyle that goes with it. Look beneath the surface, however, and we see her loneliness too - a woman whose fun eccentricities cloak a darker, more devious nature. Calista will become Joss' (Jes Macallan) friend, mentor, and surrogate sister - drawing Joss deeper and deeper into a world of secrets and betrayal."

Alyssa Milano who starred as Savannah Davis in the first and second seasons of "Mistresses" announced her departure from the series last October. Her exit occurred in the wake of announcement made that production of the show was moved to Canada for the new season.

"After two wonderful seasons in Los Angeles, the studio has decided to shoot season three of 'Mistresses' in Vancouver, Canada, for financial reasons," so she wrote in a post on her website. "It's with a heavy heart that I have decided that I can't relocate." She went on explaining, "I have two babies under 4. Being a mother and wife comes first and I just cannot uproot my children and separate the family by moving away."
