Tim McGraw is making an appearance at the 87th Annual Academy Awards next month. The show's producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron announced on Thursday, January 29 that the country superstar would perform Glen Campbell's Best Original Song-nominated "I'm Not Gonna Miss You" at the ceremony slated for February 22.

"We couldn't think of anyone better than Tim McGraw to properly celebrate Oscar nominee, Glen Campbell. Tim is the consummate country artist and will bring a bit of Nashville to the Oscars stage," Zadan and Meron said in a statement.

"I'm Not Gonna Miss You" was penned by Campbell along with Julian Raymond for the documentary "Glen Campbell: I'll Be Me" that centers on his struggle with Alzheimers. The veteran country star was diagnosed with the disease in 2011.

"We are thrilled that Tim McGraw will be singing 'I'm Not Gonna Miss You' on Glen's behalf at the Academy Awards," Campbell's family said. "Glen was always a fan of his music and Tim is sure to bring great emotional depth to the performance. We can't wait to hear it live!"

McGraw also shared his excitement, adding, "I'm honored to be asked to sing this powerful song from one of the true legends of the music industry."

"I'm Not Gonna Miss You" is up for Best Original Song against Common and John Legend's "Glory" from "Selma", Tegan and Sara's "Everything Is Awesome" from "The Lego Movie", Rita Ora's "Grateful" from "Beyond the Lights" and Adam Levine's "Lost Stars" from "Begin Again".
