Joel Edgerton, Jon Bernthal, Joe Manganiello and Gary Sinise Circling 'Suicide Squad'

According to a new report, Edgerton and Bernthal are wanted for Rick Flag role, Manganiello is in contention for Deathstroke, while Sinise is up for another role.

AceShowbiz - One day after Jake Gyllenhaal was reported to have turned down an offer to play Rick Flag in "Suicide Squad", new casting reports regarding the movie emerged. According to the reports, Joel Edgerton, Jon Bernthal, Joe Manganiello and Gary Sinise are linked to some roles in the DC villain movie.

Cinema Blend reports that Edgerton ("Exodus: Gods and Kings") and Bernthal ("Fury") are among stars who are eyed to replace Tom Hardy as Rick Flag. Manganiello ("Magic Mike"), meanwhile, is circling the role of Deathstroke. Latino Review's El Mayimbe also shared a scoop regarding the movie, writing on Twitter that Sinise ("CSI: NY") is reportedly in talks for General Eiling role.

"Suicide Squad" tells the story of a group of DC supervillains who are sent to dangerous missions by the government. Directed by David Ayer, it features appearances from Jared Leto, Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Jai Courtney and Cara Delevingne as The Joker, Deadshot, Harley Quinn, Boomerang and Enchantress respectively. Viola Davis plays Amanda Waller who oversees Suicide Squad.

The movie reportedly is starting production in April for a 2016, August 5 release.
