Another report regarding "Suicide Squad" has emerged. This time, Forbes' Mark Hughes shares that Batman will make an appearance in the DC supervillains movie. A previous report by Latino Review suggested that Batman would be mentioned and there would be footage of the Caped Crusader, but the Tuesday, January 20 report suggests Ben Affleck's role in the movie is more significant for his character's future.

"I've heard for weeks that Batman will appear in 'Suicide Squad', supposedly in an in-story scene, likely at the end of the film and focused on certain circumstances involving the Joker (which I won't spoil here)," Hughes said. "This would set up the Joker as a possible/likely antagonist in the solo Batman movie."

The solo Batman movie mentioned above he said would probably take place in the next few years. It reportedly is inspired by Frank Miller's comic book mini-series "The Dark Knight Returns" which third issue features a story about Batman fighting the escaped Joker. Additionally, he said Gotham City Police Commissioner Ellen Yindel would make appearance.

"Suicide Squad" centers on a group of DC villains who are sent to dangerous missions by the government to redeem their past. Directed by David Ayer, it features Jared Leto, Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Jai Courtney and Cara Delevingne as The Joker, Deadshot, Harley Quinn, Boomerang and Enchantress respectively. Tom Hardy was originally tapped to play Rick Flag, but he exited the project. The movie is set for release on August 5, 2016 in the U.S.
