Artist of the Week: Big Sean
Music

The rapper is readying a new album that's been led by the hit 'IDFWU' which recently reached No. 11 on Billboard Hot 100.

AceShowbiz - Big Sean's "I Don't F**k With You" is likely going to be one of the biggest break-up anthems of 2015 as well. The track, which was first debuted back in September, is still performing well on charts with it recently getting a new peak on Billboard Hot 100, reaching No. 11. It has also been sitting at No. 1 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and Hot Rap Songs.

When the song first came out, fans speculated that the venomous lyrics were about Sean's ex-fiancee Naya Rivera. The rapper and the "Glee" star split back in April and she went on marrying another man, actor Ryan Dorsey, three months later.

Sean, however, denied he dissed his former lover on the song. In an interview with "The Breakfast Club", he explained that "IDFWU" already existed when he was still with Rivera. "I guess it's a relatable song, but first of all I want to state that when we first came out with the song I was in [a relationship] with [Rivera] and I vividly remember playing it for [her.] So the point is, it wasn't no diss song, but it feels good. It's an anthem," he said.

He then admitted to changing some lines on the track after separating from Rivera, but he did it because he wanted to make it better. "I tweaked it because we had the time. That's just the responsibility of an artist. I rap what I go through. I got to keep it authentic," he added.

Due to the positive responses "IDFWU" got from fans, Sean picked it to serve as the first single off his upcoming studio album which is scheduled for later this year. "It's kinda just a time capsule of my whole life in the last year. So you can just imagine all the things I've been through," Ariana Grande's new boyfriend then explained the project. "It's all gonna make sense when I drop the album, when I drop the title."
