Golden Globes 2015 Is Not Spoiled, Best Picture Winners Are Technical Error

The movies listed as the winners of the two top categories were just picked at random for website trial before the actual show on January 11.

AceShowbiz - Did Golden Globe Awards announce their 2015 winners before the show? According to the Hollywood Foreign Press Association regulations, the winners were not supposed to be announced until the live telecast, but HFPA was accused of spoiling it by accidentally revealing the lucky ones early.

On Friday, January 9 only two days before the 72nd annual ceremony, "Selma" and "Into the Woods" were briefly listed as the winners of the two top categories. The former was for Best Motion Picture, Drama, while the latter was for Best Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy.

As the confusion grew, the organizers quickly set the record straight, claiming it was a technical error by the web developer. "While testing the official website of the Golden Globe Awards for Sunday's ceremony, Bluefin inadvertently took the test live," explains a representative for the tech company. "We randomly selected two film titles with no knowledge of the category winners. We are solely responsible for the error."

This year, the Golden Globe ceremony will air on Sunday, January 11 at 8 P.M. ET on NBC. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will host the show for the third consecutive year. Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Amy Adams, Jamie Dornan, Dakota Johnson, Jennifer Aniston, and Matthew McConaughey are among the presenters.
