The actor says if people respond to his new single, which will arrive on iTunes on January 27 via VP Records, he may release a new album.

AceShowbiz - Following his 2013 collaboration with Snoop Dogg "Red Light", Eddie Murphy has now debuted a new reggae track. The song called "Oh Jah Jah" was premiered by the singer/actor on Thursday, January 8 before hitting iTunes on January 27 via the world's biggest reggae record label VP Records.
On it, Murphy discusses some problems existing in the society today like police brutality. "Police in the street shooting down black babies/ Glory hallelujah for the young and the innocent," he sings.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, Murphy revealed that he had never stopped making music in the past 20 years. He added that he had numerous unreleased songs including collaborations with other musicians. Asked if he would make a new album, the 53-year-old superstar said, "If people respond to ["Oh Jah Jah"], then I might. If people don't, that s**t will just stay on the shelf where it's at."
"I'm cool with all my s**t being on the shelf until 100 years from now. Everything comes out 100 years from now," he continued. "Any artist that did anything, once you're gone, they go looking through all your s**t. Like this scrap of paper that you drew on. If I'm doing a movie or if I'm going onstage, that's me being funny. But music, I do that all the time, for free. And if you do something for years and years and years and years, eventually you gonna get a little better at it. I got some stuff now."
