Amy Poehler Is Chosen as Hasty Pudding's Woman of the Year

The former 'Saturday Night Live' cast member has been named the 2015 Woman of the Year by Harvard University's Hasty Pudding Theatricals.

AceShowbiz - Amy Poehler has been chosen as the 2015 Woman of the Year by Harvard University's Hasty Pudding Theatricals. Hasty Pudding Theatricals president Jason Hellerstein announced it on Tuesday, January 6 in a statement posted on the organization's website.

Jason said, "We are extremely excited to announce Amy Poehler as our 2015 Woman of the Year. She is an accomplished performer, incredible comedian, and an inspiration to everyone in the Hasty Pudding. We look forward to welcoming Ms. Poehler and celebrating and honoring her achievements in a truly unique and memorable way."

According to Hasty Pudding's website, Amy will lead a parade through the streets of Cambridge on January 29 as a part of the Woman of the Year festivities. After the parade, the "Parks and Recreation" star will be honored with a celebratory roast. She will accept her Pudding Pot at the Farkas Hall, the Hasty Pudding's home on Harvard Square.

Amy joined previous honorees which included Helen Mirren, Meryl Streep, Joan Rivers, Julia Roberts, Jodie Foster, Scarlett Johansson, Anne Hathaway, Drew Barrymore and Sandra Bullock.

A male Hasty Pudding honoree will be announced at a later date. The recipient will be honored on February 6.

Previous Man of the Year honorees included Neil Patrick Harris, Clint Eastwood, Harrison Ford, Tom Hanks, Anthony Hopkins, Robert Downey Jr., Bruce Willis, James Franco and Justin Timberlake.
