Wale has debuted a brand new track. Arriving via his SoundCloud page on Thursday, December 18, the Tone P and That Boy Good-produced tune titled "Miracle on U Street" finds the D.C. native paying homage to his hometown.
His Maybach Music Group label boss Rick Ross kicks off the go-go-influenced track before Wale emerges and boasts about his status as an elite rapper today. "Ay look the percussion a loud level/ That of which a lot of niggas cannot get to/ I'll never be a groupie but we're talking who's who/ In this zoo I see a lot of cat food/ Rats delegating with pigs/ I've been relevant seven years boy this a career," he raps.
Earlier on Thursday, Wale announced that he was preparing a new mixtape "Festivus". Set for release on December 23, the collaborative project with A-Trak is named after a 1997 episode of "Seinfeld".
Unfortunately, "Miracle on U Street" isn't going to be featured on the mixtape, which will precede the arrival of Wale's "The Album About Nothing" that's due sometime in 2015.
