AceShowbiz - Wale refused to be dragged into the drama between Sean "P. Diddy" Combs and Cassie. Rumors have spread that Diddy dangled Wale over a balcony for working with the singer against the Bad Boy Records founder's wishes, but the Washington, D.C. emcee has already shut down the chatter.
"It's a shame that a complete fabrication has gotten this far and that we have to dignify it with a response," the 39-year-old's management told TMZ Hip Hop. "It is a fantasy written by an outsider to exploit a viral story for clicks … the author must have watched 'The Five Heartbeats' on basic cable and got inspired."
"They have never been in the same room as the people mentioned," they added. "Wale has never met Cassie or the author and was never involved in any type of altercation. He wishes peace for everyone involved in the settlement."
Wale's team went on to warn any media outlets to stop posting the fake news. They continued, "And we appreciate any outlet dedicated to factual reporting."
Wale himself has denied the rumors on X (formerly Twitter). Responding to a fan's tweet that read, "They be itching for a story, not even caring about how it'll affect somone. Wild trash," he simply penned, "Wild times..." He then added in another tweet, "The slow demise of authetinc (sic) journalism ... I use to pray for gullible ... now I'm scared of em."
The rumors emerged after Cassie filed a lawsuit against her ex Diddy, accusing him of rape, abuse and sex trafficking. Just one day after the filing, the former couple agreed to "amicably" resolve the matter.
The case was officially dismissed on Monday, November 20 in New York. Legal docs obtained by TMZ stated, "Pursuant to an agreement between the parties, Plaintiff hereby dismisses this action, with prejudice and without costs or fees to either party."
