Burt Reynolds memorabilia auction in Las Vegas that ran from December 11 to 12 was apparently a success. Hundreds of the actor's personal items were on sale, and Julien's Auctions reveals they brought in approximately $2.5 million.

The highest price came from a 1977 Pontiac Trans Am that Reynolds drove in "Smokey and the Bandit". It went for $480,000. Meanwhile, his jacket from the same movie fetched over $34,000 and his boots were purchased for $20,000.

In addition to selling props he kept from the movies that spanned six decades of his career, Reynolds auctioned his awards. His Golden Globe statuette for "Boogie Nights" was sold for $21,250 and his Emmy Award trophy for CBS show "Evening Shade" fetched $28,125.

Burt Reynolds was rumored facing a dire financial crisis shortly after the auction was announced. "I am simply selling some of my memorabilia that I have enjoyed for so many years but do not have use nor room for them anymore," he denied. "Quite frankly, I am sick of so many pictures of myself in my own home."
