Jake Gyllenhaal Does the 'Salmon' Trick on 'Letterman'
TV

The 'Nightcrawler' actor had his hand in between host David Letterman's thighs for his latest favorite trick.

Jake Gyllenhaal brought his latest favorite trick to "Late Show with David Letterman". The actor was promoting his latest movie "Nightcrawler" on the talk show when he decided to pull the "salmon" trick on host David Letterman.

"Did I hear salmon? That's my favorite new thing to do," Gyllenhaal told Letterman on Wednesday, November 26. "I need someone to do it to." Letterman offered himself, saying, "Do it to me."

Letterman was instructed to pretend delivering a monologue while standing. The bearded actor then ran up to the talk show host from behind and slapped his hand in between Letterman's thighs while yelling, "Salmon!".

Letterman said afterwards in between laughter, "That's the nicest thing anyone's ever done for me. For a moment I thought I was standing in the middle of a North Atlantic stream and there were actual salmon, spawning." The actor chimed in, "It's a visceral experience." Letterman replied, "It's nice, I enjoyed it and it's continuing to tingle."
