Melissa McCarthy and Lena Dunham addressed "Ghostbusters" casting rumors. During a recent episode of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show", the host jokingly said the three of them should do the female-centric reboot together. "It seems right," McCarthy replied.

"I have to say, since I've heard that rumor I think every lady in town who fancies herself a jokester wants in," Dunham said before the focus turned to McCarthy. "I think you're in already," Ellen DeGeneres prodded, to which McCarthy insisted, "I'm not in. I'm not in!"

McCarthy is among the names endorsed by the movie's original star Bill Murray. His other dream cast includes Kristen Wiig, Linda Cardellini and Emma Stone. Joining the casting mix is Gillian Anderson who showed her interest to star in the film. "The Heat" helmer Paul Feig and scribe Katie Dippold are tapped to direct and write the screenplay respectively.

Feid said he wanted the film to be a total reboot. "It's not coming into the world that existed before," he told Entertainment Weekly. "I wanted to come into our world where there's talk of ghosts but they're not really credible, and so what would happen in our world if this happened today..."

McCarthy who will next share screen with Murray in "St. Vincent" also denied the rumor in a different chat on "Today". "We've not talked about it at all," the funny woman said. "I want to play a building in 'Ghostbusters', if he does it."

If she doesn't get involved in the reboot, "The Heat" actress could still reunite with her "Bridesmaids" co-stars like Wiig and Maya Rudolph in "Bridesmaids 2" if it were ever made by Feig. "I would do anything with those ladies again, that's for sure," she gushed. "That was the time of my life, so if anybody comes calling, I'm there. They have my number."
