Foo Fighters will be invading the famed Wrigley Field in Chicago next year. The band announced on their Facebook page on Monday, October 20 that they would follow in the footsteps of Pearl Jam, Bruce Springsteen and Billy Joel by playing a headlining show at the venue on August 29, 2015.

Tickets for the concert go on sale on Monday, October 27 at 10:00 A.M. CT. Frontman Dave Grohl first teased the Wrigley Field gig during the band's intimate show at the Cubby Bear last Friday. "Maybe we'll even play Wrigley Field one day," he said. "We'll be back soon, I hope. Might not be at the Cubby Bear."

Foo Fighters is now gearing up to release their new album, "Sonic Highways". Set to arrive on November 10, the LP features eight songs the group recorded in eight cities across the U.S., including Chicago, Los Angeles, Seattle and New York.

The making of the project is chronicled in an eight-part documentary titled "Foo Fighters Sonic Highways". Directed by Grohl, the series premiered on HBO shortly before the band appeared on Cubby Club.
