Other celebrities like the casts of ABC's series 'The Foster' and BBC's 'Orphan Black' also show their support for the fifth annual of Spirit Day.

AceShowbiz - Demi Lovato, Laverne Cox and Lucy Hale were among celebrities who showed their support for Spirit Day on Thursday, October 16. Demi took to Twitter to share a "purpelized" photo of her along with caption, "Let's show LGBT youth we've got their backs. Stand up against bullying for #spiritday! https://glaad.org/spiritday."

Laverne also posted a "purpelized" picture of her, captioning it, "I am taking a stand against bullying for #SpiritDay! Join me: https://glaad.org/spiritday." Lucy, meanwhile, shared a photo of her wearing a purple tee. "Are you wearing purple today to support #LGBT youth like @LucyHale? #SpiritDay #BeInspired," she wrote alongside the photo.

GLAAD posted on its YouTube channel some videos of celebrities including Laverne's co-stars on "Orange Is the New Black", Lucy's "Pretty Little Liars" co-stars, the casts of "Orphan Black" and stars of "The Fosters" who also showed their support for the Spirit Day.

According to GLAAD, on Spirit Day since 2010 "individuals, schools, organizations, corporations, and public figures wear purple, which symbolizes 'spirit' on the rainbow flag." Spirit Day is a way to show support for LGBT youth and to protest against bullying.
