Christian Bale in Talks for Steve Jobs Biopic After Leonardo DiCaprio Exit
Movie

The 'Exodus: Gods and Kings' star has entered negotiations to play the late Steve Jobs in a movie directed by Danny Boyle.

Christian Bale could replace Leonardo DiCaprio in the new untitled Steve Jobs biopic. The former Batman depicter is in negotiations to play the Apple co-founder in the movie after DiCaprio left the project to take some time off from acting.

Bale who will next be seen in Ridley Scott's "Exodus: Gods and Kings" was first linked to the movie when David Fincher was still attached to serve as a director. The rumor died down after the "Gone Girl" helmer departed due to control issues.

Danny Boyle is now set to serve behind the lens. Aaron Sorkin, who penned Fincher's "The Social Network", writes the script based on the best-selling Steve Jobs biography penned by Walter Isaacson.

The story is expected to focus on the launches of Apple's original Macintosh computer (1984), NeXT Cube (1990), and original iPod (2001). "This entire movie is going to be three scenes, and three scenes only, that all take place in real time," Sorkin once said.

The film was first announced in October 2011, just weeks after Jobs lost battle against pancreatic cancer. However, a rival project called "jOBS" starring Ashton Kutcher beat it to get released in 2013. Unfortunately, the biopic helmed by Joshua Michael Stern was panned by critics.
