"In Good Company" is the latest movie that's getting a television treatment. CBS is developing a half-hour hybrid comedy series based on Paul Weitz's 2004 movie and has given a script commitment with penalty to the project.

Weitz, who wrote and directed the film, is on board to co-write the script along with Josh Bycel and Jon Fenner ("Happy Endings"). The three will also serve as executive producers with Andrew Miano and Chris Weitz.

The plot of the TV show will be similar to the movie. It will center on a middle-aged ad exec who has to contend with a new boss who is half his age and is also dating his daughter. In the movie, Dennis Quaid played the ad executive, Topher Grace starred as the young boss, and Scarlett Johansson played Quaid's on-screen daughter.

CBS is also developing an hourlong action comedy based on "Rush Hour" film franchise from "Cougar Town" co-creator Bill Lawrence, Blake McCormick and Warner Bros. Television.
