The first photo of newlyweds George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin is featured on the cover of PEOPLE for it's latest issue. In the picture, George can be seen wearing a Giorgio Armani tuxedo while Amal looks beautiful in a white Oscar de la Renta gown.

George tells the site of his suit, "[Giorgio is] the class act of all class acts. He's been a good friend for many years and the night wouldn't be complete without him." Amal adds of her dress, "He's such an elegant designer and such an elegant man."

George reveals why he chose Venice as the place of his wedding to Amal. "[I and Amal] met in Italy," he shares, "We have a home there. We knew that was where we wanted to get married."

Amal's mother, Baria, says the ceremony, which was held at Aman Canal Grande Hotel on Saturday, September 27, was "so special." She shares, "George and Amal radiated love all night. The wedding was so unbelievably special, it was legendary. These three days - the friends, the families, the atmosphere, everything - will stay with me all the rest of my life."

She recalls her speech about George at the wedding ceremony, "I said, 'George, we love you truly, deeply and sincerely. We enjoy your charm, your wit, intelligent conversation and generosity. You are simply perfect.' "

On Monday, September 29, George and Amal were officially married after having a civil ceremony at Ca'Farsetti in Venice.
