Matt Bomer Joins Russell Crowe in Shane Black's 'Nice Guys'
Movie

As his TV series commitment fades away, the 'White Collar' actor focuses on his feature film transition.

Now that his USA series "White Collar" is coming to an end after six seasons, Matthew Bomer is taking more and more feature film jobs. The 36-year-old actor has signed up to star opposite Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe in "The Nice Guys", an action drama about murder conspiracy.

Gosling stars as private eye who takes a case from a gangster played by Crowe. Set in smoggy 1970s Los Angeles, the story follows Jackson Healy and Holland March, who are brought together by the suicide of a fading porn star. However, the dead girl's aunt is convinced she saw her niece alive and well after the highly publicized incident. March needs money, takes the case, and within days, it's blossomed into a far-reaching murder conspiracy, bizarrely rooted in smog and the U.S. auto industry.

According to Deadline, Bomer's character comes in as the dangerous conspiracy uncovers. "The Leftovers" actress Margaret Qualley is also in the movie as the daughter of a corrupt chief justice who figures in the scandal.

To be released in theaters June 17, 2016, "The Nice Guys" is written and directed by "Iron Man 3" helmer Shane Black. Bomer is currently filming "Magic Mike XXL" in Savannah, Georgia and will film "Nice Guys" next. He is also attached to star in Montgomery Clift biopic "Monty Clift".
