Big Sean addressed rumors, which said he was dating Ariana Grande, in an interview with Ryan Seacrest on "On Air with Ryan Seacrest" on Friday, September 26. Big said, "I'm like a big fan, I know where I'm at. I'm at 'On Air with Ryan Seacrest'. [But] I like to keep my personal life personal. You know what I'm saying?"

The 26-year-old rapper then praised Ariana, "But I am going to tell you this: That Ariana is very, very special. She's very special to me. Everything she has going on is good with her, everything I have going on is good with me, everything between me and her is good, and I'm just going to leave it at that."

During the interview, Big was also asked if his new song "I Don't F**k With You" was about his ex Naya Rivera. "I was just honestly putting myself in a perspective, man," he said, admitting that he wrote the lyrics when he was with Naya, "As an artist, you just have to do that sometimes. It's funny how records, sometimes they relate to you more later on, sometimes they don't. Obviously it kind of fits my situation."

Ariana previously also played coy when asked about Big during her appearance on "On Air with Ryan Seacrest" in late August. At that time, she said of the dating rumors, "I mean, I guess, curiosity man, it'll kill you. I don't know what to say, Ryan. Why are you doing this me? I'll tell you when we're not on the air. I trust you. I've known you a long time. I don't know about these millions of people listening in right now."

Big Sean and Ariana first sparked dating rumors a few hours before the release of their collaboration track "Best Mistake". They later fueled speculations about their romance after being spotted holding hands backstage at 2014 MTV Video Music Awards.
