Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger's marriage is reportedly on the rocks after a little more than a year. A source tells E! News that the couple has been "fighting a lot" and that "they're having a lot of issues."

"The main issue is this: When they met, they were in work mode," the insider explains. "They were doing a collaboration and that's where the attraction stemmed from. She was in the studio and he was producing her. She was also coming off some bad relationships where she didn't really feel appreciated as an artist. She felt she and Chad connected on that level."

However, since "the album didn't do as well as they had hoped…they're finding that they're not seeing eye to eye on a lot of things," the source says, adding that there is trust issue as well. "There's jealousy on both sides. She flirts, he flirts. She's very insecure to begin with."

"I don't know what's going to happen. She really wants to have a baby. She was hoping, after this album, to take time off and start a family," the source continues. "I think for now they're going to try to work it out."

A different source tells Us Weekly that Kroeger has been telling friends about his marriage problems with Lavigne. "It's over," the source says. "He has been going around L.A. telling people that they are divorcing."

Lavigne, 29, and Nickelback singer Kroeger, 39, met while working on her self-titled fifth studio album. They got engaged in August 2012 after only one month of dating and married in July 2013 in South of France. On the first anniversary of their marriage, she still gushed about his gift for her, a 17-carat emerald-cut ring.

This is the second marriage for her. She was previously married to Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley from 2006 to 2010.
