Warner Bros. has announced that they will release two animated films on the Memorial Day holiday on May 25, 2018, and on May 24, 2019. No further details have been revealed, but insiders told The Hollywood Reporter that these movies would come as the follow-ups to this year's blockbuster "The Lego Movie".

The studio has already scheduled "Lego Movie" spin-off "Ninjago" for September 23, 2016. "The Lego Movie 2" will follow on May 26, 2017. The 2018 and 2019 dates will likely be occupied by the second installment of "Ninjago" and the third "Lego Movie" respectively.

"The Lego Movie" marks the first commercially successful animated movie by Warner Bros. The film, which only cost $60 million to produce, featured the voices of A-listers like Chris Pratt, Will Ferrell, Elizabeth Banks, Will Arnett, Liam Neeson and Morgan Freeman.

The new dates were announced just a few hours after Warner Bros. said it had moved the release date of "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" from May 6, 2016 to March 25, 2016 to avoid battle with Marvel's "Captain America 3". The studio also dated nine untitled DC projects and two "WB Event Films."
